Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026

In short: NEXUS runs on your own PC. Your screenshots never reach our servers; they go only to the AI provider you choose. We keep a small account record (your email, a protected password and your pass dates), and NEXUS shares short game facts it learns from public guides. We never sell your data.

Who we are

NEXUS ("we", "us") is an AI gaming assistant run by an independent developer in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here. To contact us about privacy, email nexusgameassistant@gmail.com or open a ticket in #open-a-ticket in the NEXUS Discord.

What stays on your PC

Most of NEXUS's data never leaves your computer. It is stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\NEXUS and you can delete it at any time:

What we collect

InformationWhyKept for
Your email address and password (stored only as a one-way protected hash, never readable)To give you an account and sign you inUntil you ask us to delete your account
Access codes you redeem and your pass datesTo know whether your pass is activeAs long as your account exists
Your Discord user ID, if you claim a trial, boost the server or link DiscordTo give one trial per person, deliver boost rewards and give the Supporter roleAs long as your account exists, or until you leave and ask us to remove it
Short game facts NEXUS learns from public guides, with their web linkTo build shared community memory so everyone gets better answersWhile they remain useful; shared facts never include your name or email
Your IP address and basic request detailsTo run the service, stop abuse and keep it secure (for example, limiting repeated wrong passwords)Briefly, in short-lived server logs

Shared game facts are linked to your account behind the scenes only so that the same fact isn't counted twice. Other players never see who shared a fact.

What we never collect

Your AI provider

NEXUS sends your questions, and screenshots when needed, directly from your PC to the AI provider you connect: OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Gemini) or Anthropic (Claude). That provider handles the data under its own terms and privacy policy, not ours. In particular, Google may use content sent through the free Gemini tier to improve its products; Google's paid tier does not. Choose the provider and plan that suits you.

Web research

To answer questions, NEXUS searches the web and reads public guide pages from your PC. Those websites and the search service see a normal visit from your internet connection. NEXUS never visits cheat or hack sites.

Discord

The NEXUS Discord bot reads messages in its help channel, and messages that mention it, so it can answer them. It does not keep the content of your messages. Discord's own privacy policy covers your use of Discord. If you set up Discord alerts in NEXUS, NEXUS posts them to the channel you chose, from your PC.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We use a small number of service providers to run NEXUS:

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards required by UK data protection law. We may also share information if the law requires it.

Our legal bases

We process your account information to provide the service you asked for (contract). We process security logs and community facts because we have a legitimate interest in keeping NEXUS safe and making answers better for every player.

Security

Passwords are protected with a strong one-way hash. Connections are encrypted. Every NEXUS update is digitally signed and checked before it installs. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for a copy of it. To do this, email nexusgameassistant@gmail.com or open a ticket in #open-a-ticket. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Age

NEXUS is for people aged 13 and over, the same as Discord.

Changes

We'll update this page if anything changes and post important changes in the NEXUS Discord.
